Effective March 1, 2008, the Ray Friel Recreation Complex will be using the City of Ottawa's current membership rates and structures.

For your reference, we are considered a Class "A" facility.

    Our group fitness schedule offers a wide variety of classes. Old favorites and new offerings. Classes run at all times of the day, giving you maximum flexibility. You can pay a drop in fee, or fitness membership. Group fitness classes are open to all ages 16 and up. Members that are 13 - 15 years of age can participate when accompanied with an adult

    Intro to Spinning

    Maybe it's because you'll torch an average of 500 calories per 40-minute ride. Or maybe it's because regardless of your fitness level, you'll get a heart pounding yet low-impact workout—while maintaining the ability to go at your own pace. Whatever the reason, millions worldwide have found a lot to love about the Spinning® program.

    Join one of our seasoned Spinning® instructors as they take you through a series of rides that will introduce all the concepts of the Spinning® program.

    Classes are 45 minutes in length and take place in our Spinning® studio

    Pilates
    Our pilates matwork program is based on Joseph Pilates original exercises that focus on core stabilization, abdominal and lower-back strength and flexibility. New participants should begin with the Introduction program. No drop in are available due to the progressive nature of the classes.

    Yoga
    Discover the many benefits of yoga, increased flexibility, stress relief, toned muscles, better posture and improved concentration. We offer a wide variety of yoga classes, with something for everyone; teens, families, adults, mature adults from the gentle to the vigorous. If you are not sure which is for you please contact us or speak with your instructor the first night of programming. You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat.
